Bicycle power plant

The fact that the team will pedal aound 800 kms provides countless opportunities. For instance, we can prodice electric power and demonstrate that a concert could be amplified in an environmentally friendly manner. Inaddition, the locals may join the healthiest way of producing electricity whilst listening to the concert.

We did it! Big thanks to Tamás Szabó , Péter Sass , Simon Varró, of the Gasboards and the Csepel team, so we could leave for the tour equipped with electric breaks and digital displays. The prototype passed the test with excellent results, the special "opportunity" of loading the batteries in Slovenian mountains and on the riverside of the Danube, on cycling paths and side roads, in nature and in cities and playing music in Cividale, Melk, Vienna, Győr, Pécs, when stopping or when on the road, accompanied us all the way during the 1 month. However, of course the idea is not brand new, see the dynamo by Jedlik Ányos. The concept that we will carry out also has forerunners, such innovative groups like the organizers of Rinky Dink or the Bicycle Music Festival.

What does it mean that the bike has a 350 Watt generator, what performance can be gained actually?
- The coils and the terminals of the generator will not be faulty even if 350 watts of energy is gained in continuous operation, the equipment was designed for this. Thus the system is a little over-estimated, as one person is able to produce 80-100 Watts of energy with a little effort, or long-term. In a short time an average person is able to pedal out hundreds of watts of energy, and such a load can be tolerated by any generator.

What does this mean in practice, translated to everyday language?
- 100 watts of energy is sufficient to charge a laptop with higher performance, a smaller refrigerator, a PC, an average size LCD TV, a home hi-fi, or 20-30 mobile phones at the same time. An average, 55 Ah car battery can be charged fully in about 7 hours.
