What's Green Bikes for Peace project?
The Green Bikes for Peace project was a 30-day-long biking tour crossing 5 countries, with youth participating. The aim of the trip was to draw attention to sustainability. Thus various programs and subprojects are organized before and during the trip, in order to demonstrate different aspects of sustainability in a creative way. Although we set off from Mohács early, we were already sweating during the morning exercise. After the first terrible section on a road, we headed to South, and reached the “capital” of Portugieser, but we had to stop in every village to drink and refresh ourselves with water. After a quick lunch and wine tasting dark clouds started to gather, accompanied by strong wind. Our first fear was not grounded, but as we left Palkonya, the shower arrived. First time we tried to seek refuge in a bus stop, but after the second shower everybody accepted fate and we reached Pécs soaking wet but smiling and happy. Though we have missed the ICWiP opening event, but we made it up with the night programme. The Nap Hostel was wonderful, it is a really cool place, thank you very much, Tomi and Mirkó.
